THE OLACSIANS

OLACSian is the newspaper publicator of Our Lady of the Abandoned Catholic School (OLACS) which releases articles/stories, activities and events held in our school. These articles are made by OLACSian staffers and it is  composed of certified OLACS students.

                We, OLACSian staffers, are dedicated in publishing different news that will help our schoolmates to be updated. Our works wouldn’t be possible without the guidance of our God and the help of our beloved adviser, Ms. Ma. Jafen B. Andes. Because of this, we would like to thank all the OLACSian staffer who truly dedicate their passion and service. May we continue helping each other in forming quality information providing transparent news and eloquent views.

BSP/GSP


The BSP and GSP main objectives are :

-discipline

-civic responsibility

-concern to others

-stewardship

It focuses on the development of new leaders of the community, at a young age, to be aware of the incoming tasks upon receiving their bigger roles in the society.

OLACS CHOIR

The Glee Club helps the students to showcase their hidden talents in singing and in playing different kinds of musical instruments. Their primary purpose is to boost the spiritual progress of the students in a more engaging way. 

COMMUNICATION ARTS

The Communication Arts club explores and participates in out-of-class experiences that help further their understanding of communication in real-life situations.

MATH AND SCIENCE CLUB

 

The math and science club is to foster a community of students around a common interest in mathematics and science.

Club members will have opportunities to apply and improve math and science skills by participating in different competitions and learning circles.

This club helps the students to show their leadership in collaborating, implementing and maintaining a peaceful and harmonious community.

THEATRE ARTS

 

Haven members from many walks of life with one main motive to entertain.
 It aims to discover talents in all areas of the performing arts as well as cordians with special skills/inclinations.

1. Become aware of the beauty of           God’s  creation.

2. Explore the beauty through their talents.

3. Be an active participant or be more directly involved performing activities.

4. Develop a deep and lasting enjoyment of         performing arts.

5. Accept and respect the work of others

6. Develop pupils’ independence, interest

     in performing.

7.  Develops aspiring/potential talents by providing training sessions, workshop and seminars.
 8. Trains student who have special skills and interest.

DRUM AND LYRE BAND

This group is the school's asset in the celebration of the school's foundation day/ other activities and even in the annual festivity of The Our Lady of the Abandoned. They come in live performances, colorful costumes and props, synchronous, and entertaining rendition.

TLE/COMPUTER CLUB

 

The T.L.E./Computer club explores and participates in out-of-class experiences that help further their understanding of   real-life situations and technologies.

 

1. This club provides students avenue where they can get hands-on experience on home economics, agricultural , industrial arts and entrepreneurship. Leadership abilities, competitiveness and productivity of the club members are strengthened as they apply the different areas in TLE/Computer and eventually hone their skills for lifelong benefit.

2. This club aims to promote computer awareness, literacy and interests among students and to provide an avenue for computer software and hardware development. Activities of the club include finding solutions for computer problems and engaging in other activities that are beneficial to the club members.

ROBOTICS CLUB

 

Students learn the creative and technical world of Robotics. Using LEGO and LEGO Mindstorm NXT, students learn how to assemble infinite types of robots and perform visual programming to provide actions to the created robots. The students someday will become our future Robotics Engineer,Scientist,Designer and Programmer.
